The Dexter Dog Diary, Foreword

I am a dog. I live in Kuzey Kibris, Turkish for North Cyprus. I moved out here from Newcastle-on-Tyne last April, 2009. Like all dogs, I pick up “vibes” from humans. Except to tell fibs, that self-over-rated species need not speak to us at all! By the same method, we tell them what they need to know. Occasionally you find one who will listen.

About Kuzey Kibris: it is a beautiful country that has experienced dreadful events, especially during the middle of the twentieth century. It is still in the process of political development at a pace that is hampered by some very strange international restraints – well, what would you expect from humans? I love it here because it is nice and warm for my old joints. It can get a bit nippy in the winter with an occasional frost at night. But winter is short; our coldest months are January and February. So, in March 2010 for the three weeks when my real humans were substituted, the weather was really good in KK while in UK they were freezing their bottoms off. What bad luck! This is my day-by-day report on what happened.
